Ways to Motivate Yourself in Challenging Times

Always keep going!

Life is full of ups and downs. Some days may feel like a bed of roses and the other days may feel like a bed of thorns. You are not alone in these feelings, also, I know it’s difficult to maintain the keep-going tendency in life. However, there are a few good tips and tricks to follow when the going gets tough.

  1. Jot down your priorities: List out your all tasks on a paper, then think about the most important one. Consider the deadline for a particular task is near, and you need to work on it prior to other tasks. Moreover, your priority should not only be your work, the list should also have tasks such as playing with children, meditation, reading a book, and so on. Having such a list would always help you to maintain a work-life balance, also you would be able to focus on all types of work at a time. With this approach, you wouldn’t come across tough situations more often.
  2. Give more time to difficult things: In this information age, it’s impossible to remember everything. There will be a time when you will face some difficulty in handling complex work. The more complex the situation is, the worse your mood would be, eventually, you would start looking for ways to run away from the challenges. These challenges can be your home, work, or maybe your personal goals. But, rather than not facing the situation, start working on it. For instance, giving an extra hour every day and working after office hours. These small actions would definitely prepare you for tricky situations.
  3. Connect with others: Sharing emotions with others helps a lot in different ways. When you just vent out your problems, you feel relaxed and less burdened. Furthermore, this helps you to look at the problem from a different perspective. Sometimes, the next persons’ experiences change your mindset. So, One small talk can make a big difference, this would not make your mind relaxed but it would also give a hope to look ahead. Nonetheless, it’s not necessary to only talk to people whom you know, any counselor or mentor can also work for you.
  4. Try to improve yourself: To be truthful, whenever I made mistakes, I was aware of where they went wrong, and I always tried to improve myself. This practice always pushed me to move ahead in my life, and I never tried to back off when I made any commitment. Likewise, you cannot expect much from people, but you can expect courage from yourself or a true commitment from yourself. The courage is: To do more and Big in life. This would certainly help you to become a better version of yourself, and you will always face every hardship with a bold mindset.
  5. Accept whatever it is! : This is the toughest one, but much more worthy than others. There may be instances where you are not able to look forward, and you clearly know the reason that it’s because you did something terrible. Here, you may try to fix it or improve it but you cannot mend it properly. Your job is to learn and not repeat it again. You cannot stay in grief for so long as staying with the same emotions would never make you productive and they would only affect you and your personal life. As a solution, you need to digest this and move on.

At last, I hope these points would assist you to feel motivated and you would move on in your life. Always remember: Never lose your time only in misery, and it happens with everyone hence, you need to live your life to the fullest with yourself and with your dear ones.
